Student & Aspiring Multimedia Journalist

In first grade, I discovered my love for storytelling. Every day at 2 p.m., we would write about whatever inspired us—usually family, food, or friends. I still have all the books I wrote as a six-year-old, a reminder of where it all started.

I was declared a biomedical engineering major when I came to UNC, driven by my high school achievements. But deep down, I knew my heart wasn’t in it. I signed up for Introduction to Public Policy on a whim, and it quickly became my favorite class. A few semesters later, a professor complimented my writing and asked if I had ever considered journalism. I hadn’t—but it made me reflect on my early love for writing and storytelling.

Now, as a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill, I’m set to graduate from the Hussman School of Journalism, with a double major in Media and Journalism & Public Policy. My work as a media intern and reporter, including my time at Spectrum News 1 Raleigh, has given me hands-on experience in multimedia journalism, digital production, and content creation. I’ve learned to tell impactful stories quickly and accurately and thrive on finding creative ways to connect with audiences.

My public policy studies have given me a broader perspective, allowing me to explore the deeper implications of the stories I tell. Whether it’s conducting policy research, writing about political issues, or managing social media for a law firm, I’m passionate about using media to shape how people see the world and drive meaningful change. Creating visuals and delivering stories that resonate are what I love most about this work.

When I’m not diving into projects, you can find me reading, catching up on the latest news, advocating for mental health resources, watching sports, or cheering on the Tar Heels.
